The Question of the Jumpsuit

Hahaha. Jumpsuits are supposed to be a new look for spring ’11. The 70s are coming back…and I actually LOVE some of the styles.

Recently, I was seduced by this black AGB Jumpsuit from Macy’s. Cute right???

WRONG. lol. Well, at least wrong for my body. I’m kind of between and apple and an hourglass figure…so the wide leg pant with the high belted waist made me seem like half a humpty-dumpty. From the waist up, it looked great. From the waist down, YUCK.
I really hope that the jumpsuit works for some plus-size bodies, because this is a look I would love to see on some of my larger ladies.
I guess I have to return it on Monday. *sigh. I’m just bummed that I had to order it online and now am out the shipping costs. 🙁 So here’s my advice, ladies: try the jumpsuit, but don’t be horrified at the results. Just know that it’s a hard thing to pull off. lol. Also, try to find it in an actual store…or from somewhere that has free returns!

New Girl on the Block

Hey there! I’m a plus-size woman who is doing her best to live a “big, beautiful life.” I live in Chicago. I am absolutely addicted to shopping…I love dresses and shoes and jewelry and bags and all things pretty!
Here’s the problem though…I don’t really have the money to spend on the fabulous wardrobe in my mind. And on top of that…being a full-figured woman turns the pleasurable pastime of shopping into an Olympic-size sport fraught with disappointment, frustration, and danger. lol.
Being fat, fashionable AND financially responsible is not easy. That’s why I’m starting this blog. I want to challenge myself to take more fashion risks while staying inside my budget.
I’m not a fashion goddess or anything, and I’m pretty sure I’ll come up with some fashion fails…but I’m going to document my journey. 🙂
I’m not sure if I’ll ever have any readers…but I know there are plenty of gorgeous, plus-size fabulous women out there who struggle to put together great outfits with the dregs that the fashion industry leaves for us plump, curvy, busty, full-figured, voluptuous, heavy, Rubenesque gals.
