Fashion Fetish Fete: Sinuous by Felicia

Ugh. I’m sick as a dog. I hate being sick! So as I’m huddled up here on my sofa, wrapped in my decidedly unfashionable but extremely fluffy, soft, bright blue bathrobe, I’ll share another series of pics from the Fashion Fetish Fete last weekend. Next up is Sinuous Fashions by Felicia (I’m linking to her site, but not much is up yet…).

This chartreuse color is totally hot for SS12, and I like the drape of the fabric.

Again, great color…and the wide belt is great for solidly-built gals. 🙂

I must say that this dress was so hot and sexy, it had the crowd swooning. Of course, only 1 out of every 500 women could pull it off…but for those who do, it definitely makes a statement. lol

I liked this dress too…the subtle variations in the gray slate color were tough, yet soft at the same time.

Whew! This is another show-stopper dress. Gorgeous, but dare I say…impractical? Especially if you have any girls over a B cup. lol.

OK, that’s all for now I think…unless I stop coughing long enough to edit some more pics.

Chicago Fashion Fetish Fete: Blank Nation Apparel

The first runway show of the evening was blank nation apparel. This was Christine Conrady’s first runway show, and I think she nailed it!

What do you think of this collection? Could you see it adapted for curvy girls?
More runway shows from the Fashion Fetish Fete to come…stay tuned!

Fashion for Good: Chicago Fashion Fetish Fete, part 1

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend the Fashion Fetish Fete at Park West in Chicago. This night wasn’t just about fashion…it provided a chance to honor the humanitarian efforts of selected individuals from the local fashion community. And, the funds raised by the event will go to the The Catholic Charities’ Veterans Services and Employment programs. So…it was a nice event for a great cause…We got to see some fabulous designs sent down the runway while knowing that our Veterans will have improved access to the services and support they need because of the money raised by the event.
This post is just part one of the coverage of this event! Be sure to check back throughout the week to see highlights from the runway shows.

First, I’d like to recognize all of the Humanitarian Achievement Award Recipients.

Also, Christina Roddi represented the Catholic Charities and thanked the organizers and attendees for their support.

Music for the event was provided by ObiSoulStar. They were jammin’

And…I’m pretty sure he was barefoot for most of the performance. lol

The fabulous and perky Aleah Connect from WCIU’s Fashion Express hosted the event.

One of the most charming moments of the event were when two real life Veterans walked the runway to show off their new looks, courtesy of Revamped Image Consulting. They were so sweet!

Stay tuned…I will be posting 5 more entries about this event…showcasing each one of the Runway Shows. You don’t want to miss them!!

OK…That’s all for now. Have a great Tuesday!!!

Queen of the Copy Room in a Purple Igigi Dress

I can’t begin to tell you how comfortable and fabulous this Igigi Iliana Knot Dress made me feel when I wore it to the office the other day. Purple is the color of royalty, of course…so I was feeling like a queen…well, queen of the copy room anyway. 🙂

This dress is one of my the purchases I made at the Cupcakes, Curves, and Cleavage event at vive la femme. It is pretty low cut, so if you aren’t comfortable with your girls, you might want to wear a cami or slip underneath. Also, be very very careful with what you let rub against the fabric. I always carry my purse on the left, and when I took off my dress, I noticed some pilling on that side! So if you get this dress, be careful ladies!

Also, don’t just go with the traditional black shoes and accessories. Go for something unexpected…like a chunky yellow necklace, or some bright green earrings and cuff…or pair it with red shoes like I did! This dress is not meant to be ignored. It deserves to stand out, and so do you!

Outfit Rundown:
Dress: Igigi by way of vive la femme
Red heels: Me Too by way of Nordstrom Rack
Necklace: Francesca’s
Silver Circle Bracelet: Ravensgoods
Earrings: Ravenswood Antique Mart

Hope you’re all having a gorgeous day, my beauties!

Outfit of the Day: Ladylike in Lace

I don’t know what it is, but I’m feeling very ladylike lately. Is it the influence of Mad Men fashions that have made me obsessed over longer skirt lengths and tops that conceal and reveal at the same time? Well, anyway, today I pulled out this brown lace skirt that I bought from Old Navy like 4 years ago (have I mentioned that I keep everything even if I don’t wear it for a while??). Instead of pairing it with cream (like I did when I first bought the skirt), I decided to add some pops of color to liven things up.

This purple shirt is just a tad sheer, but is still appropriate enough to wear to the office (at least I thought it was). I went with a wildcard pairing of magenta suede heels…but it still felt somewhat boring until I added this yellow fabric flower to the belt. It definitely added some zing to the outfit…and drew attention away from my un-makeup-ed (I just invented that word) face and blah hairdo. 🙂

What do you think?

For some reason, I felt the need to curtsy. I don’t think we curtsy enough in modern society. lol

I carried my trusty yellow Coach purse and it set off the yellow flower perfectly!

The top is sheer…but tastefully so.

I was running extremely late this morning, so I went sans makeup and wore very little jewelry. Sometimes you just let the outfit speak for itself, ya know?

Outfit Rundown:
Brown lace skirt: Old Navy (practically vintage)
Purple sheer shirt: Forever 21+
Magenta suede heels: Apostrophe by way of Sears (ages ago)
Yellow rose accessory: H&M
Purse: Coach

I hope you are all having a lovely, ladylike day, my beauties!
