3 Ways to Wear a Kiyonna Convertible Dress

I’ve been searching for the most comfortable and flattering dress ever made in the history of the world…and I FOUND IT!! This Kiyonna Chameleon Convertible piece transitions flawlessly between a dress and a skirt…and it’s made of the softest, most amazing material! I was so completely sold on it…that I arrived at vive la femme in a totally different outfit…tried this on…immediately bought it and refused to take it off.  ðŸ™‚ Here are three ways to switch up your look in this Convertible dress.

Look #1: Strapless bandeaux dress

For hot end-of-summer days, wear it strapless–that’s right…bare those arms!!!–and add a statement necklace in a bright color. 🙂

I’m 5’9, so as a dress, it hits me just above the ankle, just FYI.

Look #2: Dress with a cardi or wrap — perfect for the office!

This look isn’t really that different, but adding a black wrap or cardi dresses up this casual look and makes it appropriate for the office.

 Look #3: As a SKIRT!

Wearing this Kiyonna piece as a skirt is fantastic because it’s actually long enough for us tall girls! The ability to wear it as a skirt doubles the use of this piece and makes it multi-season. Add a top, a wrap and some tights…and this will take you all the way through fall!

Firmoo.com Sunglasses Review: Channelling 70s rocker chick!

I’m loving these groovy, yellow sunglasses from Firmoo.com. When Jaye from Curvatude asked if I wanted to join the Plus Bloggers Collective and have the chance to review some awesome products, I jumped at the chance! First up, was Firmoo, the global online optical store…Apparently they have a cool program where new customers get a pair of glasses free…which is awesome, right?

I, of course, have perfect vision…so I couldn’t try out their free glasses program, but these awesome yellow sunglasses totally caught my fancy. With a super big frames and a two-tone color scheme, they screamed 70s rocker chick to me. 🙂 And did you notice the white feathery-swoopy designs on the arms? SOLD!

One cool thing about the Firmoo.com website is that they show the dimensions of each pair of glasses…and they even have a virtual try-on feature…which is entertaining, if not entirely realistic. 🙂 You can search for your perfect pair by shape or frame type. I also LOVE that they have an entire category called “Nerd Glasses” where they are urge you “embrace your geek chic look.” I swear, if I needed glasses, I would totally buy some nerd glasses!

If you’re looking for new glasses or sunglasses, check out Firmoo.com and see if there’s anything that appeals to you! There’s plenty of awesome choices–and you get your first pair free…so what more could you want??? 🙂

Fashion Fest 2012: My Day as a Plussize Model

Even though I have a plussize fashion blog and take a million pictures of myself, I’ve never considered myself a plussize model. But I was thrilled when a local fashion show producer asked if I was interested in participating in this year’s Mo Rockin’ Fashion Fest in Wicker Park! And…how awesome is it that they wanted plussize models in the fashion show to begin with??? When I found out that I would be walking in clothes from vive la femme…I was completely sold. 🙂 So…I made my debut on the catwalk!!

I appeared in the afternoon show representing vive la femme and wore the fantastic Kiyonna Whimsy Wrap Dress. I paired it with my own hot red heels, and an amazing red parasol from Elevensees. Even though it was a swelteringly hot day…it was a blast. I’m so glad I got to participate and spend the day as a model. 🙂

It was SO HOT…My hair had to be redone!

The gorgous Shannon…the other plussize model on the runway. 🙂

I had a blast!! It was great representing the curvy ladies on the catwalk! And the icing on the cake was that I got to do it in a Kiyonna dress on behalf of vive la femme. 🙂
