Like any good lipstick junkie, I’m desperately searching for the lipstick that lasts longer, hydrates better, and comes in gorgeous, intense shades. This eternal quest leads me from product to product, trying to find the next great thing. Today, I’m happy to report that the next great thing is Cate McNabb lipstick!
Have you heard of Cate McNabb cosmetics? It’s a fabulous cosmetics company with a conscience. Their products are natural and mineral-based, with no parabens, perfumes or additives. And it’s completely cruelty-free, which means you can look fabulous and FEEL fabulous about the company you’re buying from.
About a month ago, they offered to send me a sample lipstick to review, and I quickly agreed…choosing a nice plum berry shade called Cosmopolitan that I’m crazy about this fall. I never thought a berry shade would supplant my signature red lips, but this one has definitely done the trick. I’ve been wearing it everywhere….even hiking!
Isn’t it gorgeous? Such a rich color…and what I love about it is that it’s so smooth and it lasts a long time. I don’t have to reapply it every 10 minutes…this actually lasts for hours! That must be because they are made with shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and olive oil to thoroughly soft, soothe, and hydrate the lips.
This is another selfie from a Cate McNabb lipstick day. I can’t get enough, and they are only $16 per tube!!! I will definitely be ordering more shades and will try their makeup too. Tell me what you think!
This fall is all about classic looks in shades of gray, and I’m totally feeling preppy! So…I got out my pearls and my houndstooth swing coat and started pulling together a demure, old-school look that feels fresh and on trend. The perfect base for this preppy outfit was a super comfortable gray Jessica London Ponte Knit Dress.
The fit and flare shape is so easy to wear and flattering for many figures…while the seaming at the bust and the waist adds some shape to the dress. For some extra flair and dimension, I decided to wear a denim shirt underneath the dress and then set the whole outfit off with a pop of lemon heels.
Classic prep with some modern flair…perfect for fall in Chicago!
