What kind of pajamas do you wear? I’m addicted to quality pjs and have an impressive collection of every type of sleepwear! So, when Kohl’s asked me to partner with them on a plus size pajamas post, I was totally in! Life is too short to sleep in a ratty T-shirt! I don’t like anything in my life to be basic, including my pajamas. That’s why I tend to choose sleepwear in luxurious fabrics and stylish silhouettes – I like to feel like a princess when I sleep! Usually this involves nighties in silky fabrics and gorgeous colors. But I also have a love affair with classic two-piece pajama sets like this pair from the Simply Vera Vera Wang collection at Kohl’s.
Ever since a famous fashion designer stole her lover’s pajamas in the 1920s and reinvented them for women, matching pajama sets have been a symbol of leisure and luxury. I love the modern, relaxed design of these Simply Vera plus size pajamas and their lovely lavender color and contrast piping. And the fabric is SO SOFT – like sinfully soft! No wonder I fell in love with them!
When I went home to Alabama this month, I took these gorgeous pajamas and felt like a queen lounging around in bed, exchanging kisses with the family Yorkie, Mia, and eating sweets!
BEFORE YOU ORDER: Check the sizing chart! I’m usually a 2x, but I like my pjs roomy and the site said they ran small, so I ordered a 3x in these pajamas. But I feel that they ran really large. And according to the sizing chart, I should have ordered a 1x!
Since I live in Chicago, I have to be prepared for the brutally COLD winter. And it doesn’t help that my boyfriend likes to keep the thermostat really low…so when I’m relaxing on the couch, I’m usually bundled up in layers! When I saw this velour Hooded Sleep Shirt on the Kohl’s website, I knew that I needed it!
I fell in love with the rich burgundy color and pink accents, along with the fair isle pattern. And BONUS – It has pockets and a hood AND comes with matching socks!
It is so cozy and warm and is the perfect thing to wear while binging on holiday movies and hot chocolate.
About the sizing: I’m wearing a 3x, and it is very roomy. I would have been fine with a 2x or even a 1x!
I’m also a huge believer in robes and kimonos! There’s something so sophisticated about slipping into a robe after your shower! But no thick, fuzzy robes for me! I’m usually so overheated and hot when I’m running around getting ready in the morning that I like lightweight robes like this Plus Size Simply Vera Vera Wang Basic Luxury Wrap Robe.
Again, I don’t know what kind of magic Vera Wang uses in her sleepwear, but this fabric is so luxurious and soft! I chose this beautiful sleek navy color with contrasting gray mesh trim, but it also comes in black and heather gray. And I love the additional shirred detail in the back of the robe!
This is the perfect robe to keep me cool and covered as I dash from room to room putting together my outfit of the day – and for taking a little blogging break!
