New Chicago Service: ReturnRunners Review

New Chicago Service: ReturnRunners Review
New Chicago Service: ReturnRunners Review

I have a confession: I’m a shopaholic. You might not be too surprised by that since I am a fashion blogger, lol. But my shopping habit means that I am also a return-aholic by default. On any given day, I have at least 3 or more items/bags that need to be returned. I can’t tell you how many times bags and boxes of returns have accumulated in my living room and I’ll miss the return window because I’m too busy (or too lazy) to take them back or mail them! Well, I’ve found a solution that has changed the game totally! It’s called ReturnRunners, and it is a dream come true.

*ReturnRunners provided me a complimentary return service for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

About Return Runners

Return Runners Review, Chicago Return Service, Chicago, Chicago Blogger

ReturnRunners is a new service – based in Chicago for now – that handles your returns for you. You go online and schedule a pickup and a nice person comes to your house and picks up all of your parcels. They make returns to major retailers and will even drop your stuff off at the post office! It costs about $10 to schedule the pickup and then an additional dollar for every item you need to return. When I asked, the founders said that the additional per-item cost is due to liability and insurance, which totally makes sense. It may feel like a luxury that you don’t want to invest in, but when you add up the commuting costs and your time, this service is worth it!

3 Reasons You Need ReturnRunners in Your Life

  1. Making returns is a pain in the you-know-what
I love shopping, but I dread having to go back to the stores to make returns. I usually save up all of my packages and slog my way downtown to spend half a day (or more) going from store to store. And I usually wait too long, and I’ve missed the return deadlines so many times! ReturnRunners helps get you over the hump. It’s so convenient and truly takes the pain out of making returns.
  2. In Chicago, USPS is notoriously bad at picking up packages at apartment buildings
For some reason, the USPS never picks up my packages – even when I go online and schedule a pickup. I’ve done it 3 days in a row sometimes, and still, no one comes to get them! So – when I have to make online returns, I have to go to the nearest post office (which is about a mile or two away). This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when you have a lot of return parcels (and no car), it is unwieldy and inconvenient! I LOVE that ReturnRunners will drop off these packages at the Post Office, UPS or FedEx stores for you. Just select “Other” from the list of return locations and type in where you need it to go.
  1. It saves you time and potentially money!
When I make returns, I usually have to take an Uber downtown and back, which costs about $18 roundtrip. Then I have to tote all of the bags around downtown as I go from store to store. And you KNOW I can’t go into a store to make returns without shopping for new items! So ReturnRunners saves you the cost of the commute and potentially helps limit your additional spending! And you get your valuable time back!

It was such a relief to get those returns made – after they picked up the packages, they sent me an email with all of my return receipts attached. And if they can’t make a return for some reason, they’ll bring it back to you.
