It’s the dog days of summer and this year, we don’t have too many places to go or events to glam up for. That has left 90% of my wardrobe untouched this season! But that’s ok! It’s actually giving me a chance to upgrade my easy, casual plus size summer outfits. What’s So Great About These Casual Plus Size Summer Outfits

The best thing about my new, more casual wardrobe is no shapewear! lol. OK, I’m only half joking. But it’s true, I haven’t touched my shapewear in about 6 months because my favorite casual plus size summer outfits are not tight and don’t have anything fussy or constricting!

If you read my last summer wardrobe post, you know that I love easy, looser silhouettes that don’t wrinkle too easily. Another must-have? Bra-friendly straps!! Because goodness knows I’m not wrangling myself into a strapless bra in this heat just to go to the grocery store!

Striped Tie-Waist Plus Size Romper

My first pick from Lane Bryant’s Summer collection was this adorable Textured Stripe Tie-Waist Romper. Easy to wear? Check. Bra-friendly straps? Check! Cute style that had me dreaming of picnics in the park and relaxing on my porch with a good book? Check Check Check! It went right into my cart!

Another detail that I love about this plus size romper is the textured stripe fabric. It feels almost linen-like, and is weighty enough not to be see-through. The square neckline is also a favorite of mine!

A simple tie-waist adds some flair at the waist and it zips up the back, so it’s easy to get in and out of! All you need to do is add some sunnies like these Oversized Textured Square Sunglasses, grab a bag, add some sandals (like these Espadrille Wedge Ankle-Strap Sandals that I spotted after I placed my order) and you’re out the door!

Yellow and White Tiered Seam Fit-and-Flare Dress

Color has also played a huge part in my summer wardrobe. If it’s not bright and happy, I usually pass right over it. But this sunny yellow Tiered Seam Fit-and-Flare dress called to me on the Lane Bryant site!

I love the light and airy fabric and the simple fit-and-flare silhouette. Nothing constricting or uncomfortable – everything is soft and light. So it makes ME feel soft and light!

I also really love this unique waist detail. I don’t know how to describe it, but it is like a large banded section that adds some visual flair to the front of the dress. The tiered skirt flows nicely from it, and the back is smocked to make sure that it stretches where it needs to.

And can we talk about the sleeves?! Flutter sleeve perfection! I paired this happy little dress with some sunnies and some simple white tennis shoes!
