Recently I attended a movie premiere for a movie I’m actually in! I wanted to go for an “Old Hollywood” look, and that means velvet! I got this plus size purple velvet dress from Lane Bryant that I thought was PERFECT for the occasion, and here’s how I styled it.

I recently had some family in town over Thanksgiving, and we went to go see The Illusionists with Broadway in Chicago. For the occasion, I obviously wanted to style the most magical piece in my wardrobe, which was this super sparkly plus size glitter blazer that I just got from a recent Target Try On! I had so much fun styling it – here we go!

Some things are so cute, you don’t just want to wear them once! I wore this plus size pink sequin dress when I went to a Christmas bar a few weeks ago, and I felt so cute and so fun. Most holiday gift guides are a little unrealistic, don’t you think? I don’t know about you, but my max spend on a gift for the holidays is about $60 – maybe a little more if I’m buying something for my main squeeze. So this year, I decided to put together a realistic holiday gift guide with gifts that I’ve actually received (and loved!) or given (and the recipient loved!). One of my pet peeves is getting a gift that I know I’ll never use. So most of these items are practical and some of the most-used items in the house! Here we go!
