Last month, I returned to Atlanta to attend the TCFStyle Expo for the second year in a row! This year, I was part of the TCFStyle Squad so I attended all of the events and got a true VIP experience! Here’s my recap of the event, and these are my 5 favorite things about this year’s TCFStyle Expo!
Big News!! Plus size, curvy gals in Chicago have another reason to celebrate! Torrid has moved in to a storefront right in the middle of State Street! Now those of us who live in the city and are addicted to shopping can get our fix during lunch breaks. I was able to join in the fun for the #TorridsInTheLoop event last week, and here’s a few snaps from the opening.

Guess who showed up???? George Kotsiopoulos, former host of Fashion Police! He was on hand to give out fashion tips and advice and was SO nice!
I also got to meet the gorgeous faces of Torrid, Philomena Kwao (below) and Georgina Burke (the stunning blonde aussie a few pics down)
And, I found tons of adorable outfits that will be making an appearance in my closet stat.

This was my first time attending Chicago Fashion Connect’s industry mixer. I’m so very glad I went! I had the opportunity to hobnob with several of the city’s fashion bloggers, designers, models, and other industry insiders.
I went with a sort of boho-chic look and debuted my fabulous Fergie boots for the first time!

| Have I mentioned the love I have for these Fergie boots??? I got about a 3000 compliments on them! They are a stone colored leather…not suede, but with a brushed, raw look. They zip on the side and the leather folds down over the heel of the boots. SO CUTE! |

| I enjoyed talking with Sandy and Chakib from Red Carpet Concierge. They have an event coming up later this month to honor fashion makers in Chicago. I can’t wait to find out more about what they do! |

It was a nice event and I made some connections that could lead to some fun projects. I’ll definitely want to attend another mixer! Thanks to the Chicago Fashion Connect team for putting it on!

I have been hoping and waiting for an announcement of a plus-size friendly event in Chicago for Fashion’s Night Out….and my wish was granted! Thanks to Nikeya Young over at the Examiner, I just found out that Chicago’s plus-size boutique, vive la femme will be hosting an event called “Cupcakes, Curves, and Cleavage.” (BTW, this event name should be the title of my first book!!! lol)
Here are the deets:
