Voodoo Vixen Plus Size Retro Sailor Print Dress

Sometimes, nothing else will do but an adorable retro dress in a fabulous sailor print. This plus size sailor print dress from Voodoo Vixen* is everything my vintage-loving heart could desire! From the bright gorgeous red to the white scalloped sweetheart neckline and trims — I’m swooning! The nautical print is a mix of anchors and steering wheels which has me wanting to set sail — even though I get horrible motion sickness! If you haven’t heard of Voodoo Vixen, and you’re a vintage/retro-loving gal…get yourself to their website! They have a great selection of plus size and straight size styles in 30s, 40s, and 50s shapes and styles. You’ll be in heaven!

What I love about this adorable plus size retro dress: I’ve already talked about the charming nautical print. The full 50s silhouette is so great for women of all sizes — the nipped in belted waist with the sweetheart neckline is so flattering! And the cap sleeves are big enough for my arms, without being too big or gaping. I’m wearing a size 3X, since their dresses run a little snug — especially if you have a large bust. I’m in between a 2X/3X, so I opted to have a little more room. Bring on the boat parties! In a dress this cute, I am tempted to forget that I get motion sick and will sail away into the sunset!

Apparently, I cannot get enough plus size red dresses this season! Red is just so bright and bold and it truly stands out in a sea of LBDs. This plus size Closet Split Front Red Dress from Simply Be* is not only the perfect shade of bluesy red…but it has a unique shape that makes this dress even stand out more!

What I love about this plus size red dress from Simply Be is the relaxed bodice seaming with wide cuffed sleeves and gathers at the waist. An attached belt can be tied in back for a cleaner look or in front. The hemline dips down slightly in the front and has a split in the middle. Overall, it gives a relaxed glamour to the dress that you don’t see very often!

Can we take a moment to appreciate these incredible Steve Madden sandals for a second?! Suede Fringe heels with ankle ties. SWOON!
