Vive la femme TV starring ME and Zen Knits

Stephanie at vive la femme asked me back to host another episode of VLFTV! This time, I show you some comfortable and stylish pieces from Zen Knits, one of vive’s favorite labels. ***Can you count how many times I say “great”? lol

Today on vive la femme TV: 3 Plussize Spring Dresses from London Times

If you follow my blog, you know I love my friend Stephanie’s plussize boutique, vive la femme so much that I’m a hair’s breadth away from moving in and staying there forever and ever. I’m thrilled to share her new YouTube channel where she posts short, adorable videos highlighting looks and styles in her store—and I got to guest host the latest episode!

So without further ado…check out vive la femme TV and watch as I share three great London Times dresses that are on trend for spring!

Plussize Pinup: Polka Dots, Peplums, and Stripes!

This dress hits ALL of my favorite notes! Polka dots…peplum…and a vintage, pin-up-y feel…what’s not to love?? I knew as soon as I walked into vive la femme boutique that this Kristin Miles dress had to be mine. I feel sexy and flirty and confident, and that’s what fashion is all about, right?

I chose to pair it with striped black and white accessories and ankle strap wedges–which actually modernizes the look a bit.

Red lips are the purrrrfect accessory!
Striped earrings from Forever 21.

Zebra print belt from Dressbarn.

Hmmm…..now that  I’m all dressed up, where should I go?

3 Ways to Wear a Kiyonna Convertible Dress

I’ve been searching for the most comfortable and flattering dress ever made in the history of the world…and I FOUND IT!! This Kiyonna Chameleon Convertible piece transitions flawlessly between a dress and a skirt…and it’s made of the softest, most amazing material! I was so completely sold on it…that I arrived at vive la femme in a totally different outfit…tried this on…immediately bought it and refused to take it off.  ðŸ™‚ Here are three ways to switch up your look in this Convertible dress.

Look #1: Strapless bandeaux dress

For hot end-of-summer days, wear it strapless–that’s right…bare those arms!!!–and add a statement necklace in a bright color. 🙂

I’m 5’9, so as a dress, it hits me just above the ankle, just FYI.

Look #2: Dress with a cardi or wrap — perfect for the office!

This look isn’t really that different, but adding a black wrap or cardi dresses up this casual look and makes it appropriate for the office.

 Look #3: As a SKIRT!

Wearing this Kiyonna piece as a skirt is fantastic because it’s actually long enough for us tall girls! The ability to wear it as a skirt doubles the use of this piece and makes it multi-season. Add a top, a wrap and some tights…and this will take you all the way through fall!

Fashion Fest 2012: My Day as a Plussize Model

Even though I have a plussize fashion blog and take a million pictures of myself, I’ve never considered myself a plussize model. But I was thrilled when a local fashion show producer asked if I was interested in participating in this year’s Mo Rockin’ Fashion Fest in Wicker Park! And…how awesome is it that they wanted plussize models in the fashion show to begin with??? When I found out that I would be walking in clothes from vive la femme…I was completely sold. 🙂 So…I made my debut on the catwalk!!

I appeared in the afternoon show representing vive la femme and wore the fantastic Kiyonna Whimsy Wrap Dress. I paired it with my own hot red heels, and an amazing red parasol from Elevensees. Even though it was a swelteringly hot day…it was a blast. I’m so glad I got to participate and spend the day as a model. 🙂

 RAWR

It was SO HOT…My hair had to be redone!

The gorgous Shannon…the other plussize model on the runway. 🙂

I had a blast!! It was great representing the curvy ladies on the catwalk! And the icing on the cake was that I got to do it in a Kiyonna dress on behalf of vive la femme. 🙂
