Simply Chic in Maggy London Illusion Sheath Dress and Jessica London Camel Coat
Is there anything more chic than a classic black sheath dress and a camel coat?! I actually don’t wear a lot of black, but sometimes when I see a dress that is so elegant and impeccably executed like this Maggy London Illusion Sheath Dress, I have to have it! And do you know what really makes me happy? This dress is available in both straight and plus sizes! Kudos to Maggy London for making size-inclusive dresses! Here’s an affiliate link for you to check out the plus size version of this black illusion dress at Nordstrom >>
When I saw this dress, I knew I wanted to stay simple and classic with the styling. It’s such a timeless look, and to complement its natural polish, I added another classic, timeless closet staple: a Camel Color Wool Wrap Coat from Jessica London via Fullbeauty.com.

I just noticed that both of these pieces are from brands that end in LONDON. lol. I guess I’m a fan of anything that reminds me of England and its ladylike, feminine and totally polished vibe.
Here’s a closer look at the plus size black dress with the illusion neckline from Maggy London. Isn’t it divine? The mesh yoke is gently gathered at the sleeves and at the neck and around the sweetheart neckline, creating a soft crinkle and adding dimension. And these front seams over the bust and down the front are magic! They help the dress lay perfectly over your curves and give the dress some extra structure. I love the ladylike, below-the-knee hem length.
I wanted to add a little edge to this classic look, so I added carried my Vince Camuto Tiger Print clutch that I got at Nordstrom years ago. I also wore these black suede court shoes with mesh cutouts from Simply Be to play up the mesh of the dress.
I felt so impossibly chic in this look! What are your go-to classic pairings? Tell me in the comments!
