Spring Fashion: Flower Power From Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant Collection
If you’ve been following plus size fashion news, you know that all the latest buzz has been the new Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant collaboration. I couldn’t WAIT to try it, and I’m so happy to report that the collection is FANTASTIC! Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing several of my favorite looks from the Prabal Gurung x Lane Bryant collection! First up is this bright, bold floral blouse and floral circle skirt >>
It’s officially the first day of SPRING! And you know what that means…FLORALS! Every dress and top in my closet right now is awash in gorgeous, big colorful blooms! The pink floral iris print against the crisp white background of these two pieces completely embodies the spirit of spring!
Not only is the iris print unique – even among so many floral prints coming out for spring – but I love how the floral top has a smaller print and the the irises are blown up on the print of the skirt. They can be worn together, but also will be so easy to mix with other items in your closet! You will always have something to wear to spring weddings, showers, teas, and luncheons! I chose a size 18/20 top and size 20 skirt, and they both fit perfectly. I like to wear my skirts pretty high, so the waistband hits at the narrowest part of my torso, so if wear your skirts at your true waist, you might want to size up.
Isn’t this hat to die for?? It’s from Generation Bliss, a boutique based out of Chicago. They have such a great selection of amazing, attention-grabbing hats this spring. Perfect for Derby parties you might be attending or for any Easter services, parades or teas you might be going to!
I started the day with the top tucked into the skirt, but wanted to change it up a little bit — so I tied it around the middle, cinching the waist, and making it a little more laid back. With it knotted, I wasn’t fussing with making sure the top was tucked in evenly throughout the photo shoot.
Of course, if you read my last post, you recognized that this was the outfit I wore for our promotional video and photo shoot for the upcoming Leading Ladies Luncheon to raise funds for the Mother’s Day Makeover Initiative sponsored by A Better Day With Julie and the Daisie Foundation.
