Victoria Beckham x Target Plus Size Review
When I heard that Victoria Beckham was doing a Target collaboration, I was SO here for it. I literally couldn’t wait. I even scheduled the drop date in my calendar so that I wouldn’t miss it, and it worked! I bought a ton of pieces to try, and have finally gotten around to posting this review. Here’s 3 plus size outfits from the Victoria Beckham x Target collection.

So…why was the Victoria Beckham x Target collab such a big deal? Because for the first time in designer Target collab history, they were offering a number of items in plus sizes! AND…Target promised that the plus size items were going to be available actually IN STORES! I was so excited to go to my local Chicago target to shop the collection in person…but OMG, you guys! I was SO disappointed.
There were NO Target stores in the Chicago metro area that brought the plus size items in stores. I mean — I never thought that CHICAGO wouldn’t have a single Target store that carried it. I was super disappointed, but still hopeful. So I went online to place my order. Because this was a brand new collection, and because none of the past designer collabs have been available in plus size, I had no reference for sizing. So instead of ordering my size, 2X, I thought I should order a size up. BIG MISTAKE. Most of the items I ordered were size 3X. The 3x was literally falling off of me. Most of the items were so huge that I couldn’t even make them look good in pictures! So sadly, had to send most of it back!
But thankfully, I ordered 2 pairs of pants in size 20 which fit very well and two tops that coordinated with them. Also, one of the dresses I ordered worked too. So here are 3 looks that I managed to put together from the Victoria Beckham x Target plus size collection.
Outfit details: Victoria Beckham for Target Women’s Plus Black Satin Calla Lily Wide Leg Pant and Women’s Plus White Poplin Gathered Waist Top
These Calla Lily pants were my favorite piece out of my Victoria Beckham x Target shopping haul. I love the length on them and the striped tuxedo details on the side. The Calla Lilly print up one leg is so elegant and modern at the same time. The size 20 fit me fairly well, since the fabric has a nice bit of stretch to it. The pockets did bulge a bit at the hips, but that doesn’t trouble me since I can easily wear tops that cover it up.
Outfit details: Women’s Plus Fuchsia Twill Tank Top; Women’s Plus Fuchsia Twill Flared Trousers
I’ve always wanted a pink power suit, and Victoria Beckham made my dreams come true! This color is so bright and bold that you can’t help but feel like a million bucks when you wear it. The pants were perfection (but again, the pockets bulged out slightly at the hips), and the top was so easy to wear. Together, this pink pair is definitely a statement outfit.
Outfit details: Women’s Plus Size Black Dress with Calla Lily (sold out!)
I’m so sad that I made the mistake of ordering this dress in a 3x, because I’m certain the 2x would have been perfect! This simple dress is gorgeous. The calla lily print is so simple against the black and I love the ruffle hemline.
Overall, the collection designs are simple and beautiful — both retro and modern and playful, too. My biggest disappointment is that the plus size items weren’t offered in any store in my city — which led me to gambling on the sizing and making the mistake of ordering up. It’s ultimately my mistake, and I was just too tired to go through the process of exchanging everything. But it’s a classic example of the challenges and frustrations that the plus size shopper / consumer has to endure.
