Here’s a confession – I’m bored with my underwear. I’m tired of the same printed cotton hipster panties and balconette bra and want to try something new. But the problem is plus size underwear is harder to find than it should be. For some ridiculous reason, I can never find underwear or bras in my size at department stores and usually shop for my intimates at specialty shops, online, or at plus size only stores. Kohl’s understands the struggle. They know how hard it can be to find the right bra fit while shopping online, so they created a Bra Fit Quiz to help.

Kohl’s Bra Fit Quiz

Basically the Kohl’s Bra Fit Quiz asks you a series of questions about the size and fit of your favorite bra. It helps identify any issues (Do the straps slip off your shoulders? Does the band ride up in the back?) and clarifies your preferences (underwire? more coverage? padded or unlined?). After you complete the quiz, it gives you a summary of the type of bra you’re looking for and then has a button for you to shop recommended bras! After I took the quiz, I narrowed the suggestions down to 3 bras that came in my size and fit my preferences.

Plus Size Bras from Kohl’s

I’ve been wearing the same brand of bras for years, and it’s time to see if there’s a better kind out there for me. Kohl’s had plenty of bra options in 42DD, so I chose 3 very different bras to try.

First was the Glamorise Front-Closure Wonderwire Bra. I have never tried a front-clasp bra before, and I was interested to see if it could withstand the pressure from my larger chest. And it DID! It lifted and separated in a way I’ve never experienced. I also loved this bright pink color and the padded straps are so comfortable!

Next was the Olga Cloud 9 Full-Figure Underwire Bra – a lightly-padded full coverage bra in a light salmon pink color with a little lace detail at the cups. The fabric feels so soft and I loved the nude backing to the lace edge – it looks like your skin, but still provides coverage!

My final choice a dainty white lace bra from Bali. The Bali Lace Desire Lightly Lined Underwire Bra is so beautiful and fits nicely. I rarely wear unlined/unpadded bras, and was surprised at how comfortable and pretty it looked!

And because I can’t buy new bras without new undies, I went to kohls.com and filtered the underwear section to plus size. I was looking for beautiful panties with lace details and a more elegant look that my go-to pairs. Although I was tempted by the fun and sexy options, I chose 3 pairs of more refined and dainty-looking underwear.

Confidence starts from the base layer up

When I wear beautiful underwear, I feel more pulled together and confident, don’t you? When I’m wearing old undies or uncomfortable bras, I’m aware of them all day. And when I start my outfit off with a gorgeous, well-fitting base layer, everything else seems to fall into place. So take a look at your underwear drawer and see if it needs refreshing.
