My skin feels so hydrated and glowing after a Mermaid Facial from Elina Organics Spa in downtown Chicago! I was thrilled when I was contacted by the spa to try out their services, and I immediately booked it! Located right off the Mag Mile in downtown Chicago, Elina Organics has a prime location and a calming, luxurious environment.

About the visit

I was welcomed into the office by my aesthetician, Kasandra, and led into the treatment room – which had some fruit and nuts (YUM kiwi and strawberries!) and a selection of beverages to choose from. We sat down for a minute while I filled out my questionnaire and then we discussed my skin. This is an important part of the process because this is how the aesthetician decides how to customize your treatments and which products will be most useful to you!

The specific treatment that I received is called the Elina Organics Mermaid Face Lift Treatment with Crushed Sea Pearls and Natural Peptides. It’s a 45-minute facial treatment that starts with gentle cleansing and exfoliation. Then they apply the Elina Organics Serum which is made from collagen-building natural peptides and other natural botanicals. A mask is applied that features Marine Collagen and crushed seawater pearls – and this is where the Mermaid Facial gets its name! If mermaids got facials, I’m pretty sure that is what they would use!

Once the mask was applied, it was really worked into my skin using electrophoresis. Somewhere during the treatment (I can’t remember the exact order!), we did some light extractions and Kasandra used a vacuum-type thingy to really clean out my pores and removed dead skin! Since the whole thing was Mermaid themed, and the vacuum felt like little light suction cups, I joked that they should call this the  “octopus kiss” part of the facial. Kasandra was nice enough to laugh at my lame joke.

We finished by applying a customized mix of Elina Organics Eye Cream, Skin Elixirs, and Moisturizers. Did I mention that ALL of their products are organic and handmade in Elina’s lab in Michigan? Their products are organic, fresh, and cruelty-free. They are also free of artificial fragrances, synthetic chemicals, toxic preservatives, gluten, dairy, and soy!

The sent me home with an amazing selection of products, and I have been using them for the past few weeks. My skin has never looked better! If you’re in Chicago, this facial is a must!
