Plus Size Monochromatic Outfit – Walmart Haul
Next post
I love the chic and timeless look of a monochromatic outfit, so I wanted to feature solid color looks in this plus size Walmart Haul! Monochromatic looks are a hallmark of minimalist style, but when you choose bright, bold colors, it fits perfectly with my maximalist aesthetic. So here are 4 plus size monochromatic looks in my latest Walmart Haul that I have been wearing on repeat this fall!
4 fabulous monochromatic plus size outfits – all from Walmart!
Red (Red Plus Size Bodysuit, Red Knit Midi Skirt) | Green (Green Plus Size Bodysuit, Green Knit Midi Skirt) | Red and Pink Swirls (Pink and Red Plus Size Sweater, Pink and Red Asymmetrical Midi Skirt) | Green Pleated Dress
First up is my favorite statement color: red! This shade has a slight orange tone, and I that makes it perfect for fall and will also work for the holiday season. This is a bodysuit and knit skirt combo that can be mixed with other items in your wardrobe. I love the ribbed knit of the body suit and the button details on the slight bell sleeves!
The skirt is reminiscent of a sweater skirt, but is a lighter weight knit, so it’s not too heavy. The fabric is textured and it’s a midi length, so it looks great with knee high or over the knee boots. I chose camel accessories to add a counterpoint to the strong red monochromatic color.
And of course, I had to get the same two items in GREEN! Again, I love wearing bold colors from head to toe, and this bodysuit/midi skirt pairing is a winner. Lol I also did a video on Instagram featuring other ways to style this green skirt. Check it out here >> LINK ONCE IT’S AVAILABLE.
Ok, while technically not one overall color, I believe monochromatic can encompass prints when worn head to toe! You know I love pink and red together, so I was immediately drawn to this sweater and skirt set.
The sweater is a nice medium weight and has a smooth texture that is nice against the skin. The swirl print is fun and mesmerizing when worn with the matching skirt, but it’s also going to look fabulous on its own with jeans.
The skirt has a fun asymmetrical hemline to give it some spice. I really like that it plays with the eye and is more visually interesting than a straight midi skirt would be. It’s the same medium weight knit as the top, and feels like a quality item.
The easiest way to pull off a monochromatic look is to wear a dress! This emerald green was such a divine color that I had to have it. And I love the slightly 70s feel of this silky, billowy design. The whole dress is pleated, hits at a midi length (which is my go-to fall hemline), and has a fabric tie at the waist and the neck. And the sleeves are giving all the drama with a nice billowy shape!
I recently wore this outfit with a statement coat, green heels and a green bag! I felt like a 70s glam girl!!
I know many of my followers/readers still shy away from bright colors and wearing it head to toe can be a big ask. But I can tell you from experience (and science!) that colorful clothes are powerful. They can impact your mood and your confidence levels. And if you want to feel strong, powerful, and stylish?! Try wearing a solid color (or a print) in your favorite hue – the one that makes you feel amazing!
