Plus Size Blue & White Striped Shirt Dress
This plus size blue and white striped dress was in my latest Target try-on haul, and I couldn’t decide if I wanted to keep it or return it. When I’m torn about a piece, I try to put together an outfit to see how I would actually wear it and if I felt like I would reach for it repeatedly. The issue (to me) was that I loved the front – I mean, look at those adjustable ties! – but the back is kind of blah. However, when I paired it with white accessories, put my hair up, and thought about the places I would wear this, I decided that the back didn’t really bother me! The cuteness of the front made up for it. Now I’m leaning towards KEEP!
Here’s the dress! It’s sooo cute in the front – the ties on the side, the buttons down the front, the collar, the colors, the POCKETS. But the back doesn’t have the same shape that the front does. So my mission was to style it so you didn’t notice how plain the back is.

I think the boots helped a lot! I chose an ankle boot with a nice heel, and I think that definitely helped elevate the look in the back. But at the very least, it looked awesome in the front! I like a short boot with a longer dress, they didn’t overpower but definitely added a good amount of flare.
My white pearl headband is one of my favorite accessories. Especially with my dark hair, it helps bring the brightness up! I think adding this with the boots made the outfit look very put together.
And of course, you can’t do a white boot without a white bag! I love this clutch, it’s one of my favorites. The simple yet interesting woven pattern adds the perfect amount of depth to this simple yet interesting dress!
And my final two accessories – a necklace and a red lip! I love this necklace, I’ve been wearing it all the time. It’s the perfect dainty gold accent to any outfit. And this lip color is my absolutely favorite. I can wear it without any other makeup and still look fabulous!

There’s the look! What do you think? Did I do justice to the dress??
