I found this super cute plus size brown & black slip dress at Target, and I had the most fun styling it to go to the theater with my bestie! The weather has been cool and crisp in Chicago, but not freezing lately, so this was the perfect thing to wear. It’s kind of giving slam poetry vibes, but I’m here for it!

So cute right?! I love the diagonal stripes, it adds dimension to the outfit and makes it so much more interesting. I also love the color combo! Mixing neutrals is something I’ve been excited about doing more.

Obviously it was much to cold in February to wear that dress by itself, so time to layer up! I loved the dress so much that I wanted to layer underneath instead of over, and this turtleneck was perfect. It’s warm but also slim, so it fits perfectly under the dress.

Black Extra-Wide Calf Knee High Heeled Boots

A knee high or over the knee boot was definitely needed for this outfit! It finished off this dress as a winter look instead of a summer one. My OTK boots are long sold out, but here is a great wide calf knee high option!

Black Beaded Clutch

I love this bag!! Perfect size and the beaded detail is gorgeous. It adds the right amount of shimmer to the outfit that I wasn’t getting with some of my more plain black clutch bags.

And to literally top it off – a black beret! This brought the slam poetry vibes for sure. I think it pulled the whole outfit together and made it so much fun to wear out – especially to the theater!
