This is one of my favorite dresses! The bright royal purple is absolutely perfect! It originally came with a skinny black patent leather belt, but I wanted to spice it up a bit and try out the color-blocking trend which was all the rage in the fashion world this summer. I would never have paired purple and red together last year…but I love the way it looks! A red wrap belt and red heels…with turquoise jewelry and a lemon yellow purse (not shown) completed my look. Have you heard the buzz about the new show on MTV featuring an aspiring plus-size model? It’s called Chelsea Settles and it premieres on October 11. Watch the trailer:
I’m extremely interested in how this will go…for the network and for the plus size industry in general. What do you think about the show? Will you watch it?
I tend to think it’s a good thing, but I’m withholding judgement until I see how its treated in the show and how Chelsea is received in the media.

I’m rocking the Curvy Country Girl theme here in Chicago! My dress is a little “Little House on the Prairie” but I love it! I actually got it at a clothing swap last spring. Paired with pigtails and cowboy boots, I’m totally working it. lol. Whatcha think y’all??? (Did I mention that I am actually from Alabama???!)
Here are my outfits for the week so far. As you can see, my work clothes tend to be on the conservative side with some fun elements weaved in. None of these really have a “wow” factor, but they are easy to jump into when I’m running late (which is everyday!!).
Monday
-Decided to rock the 60s theme with a bright yellow floral dress, white lucite accessories, nude pumps, and a big up-do.
Tuesday
-Went light and summery with a navy sheer dress and leopard wedges.
Wednesday
-I was planning to go to a concert in the park tonight, so I wore pants for the first time this season! Polka dot tank top, instant sleeves, and flats completed the casual “I can lounge around on the grass and not flash anyone” look.
