Cute AND comfy is the name of the game! The only things on my agenda were working from home and walking the dog, but I forced myself to put on something cute. And I’m so happy with the results – because I felt SO much better the entire day with something cute on!
OK y’all…I know this might be controversial…but I just don’t like wearing denim shorts! They look cute, of course…but I just find them restricting around my belly – and they absorb all the sweat between my thighs so I end up chafing! I MUCH prefer lightweight shorts – preferably high-waisted or with elastic waistbands. And bonus points if they’re a fun color or have some unique detail. So for all my other non-denim short gals…here’s a roundup of some cute options that I’ve spotted lately. What are your thoughts? Am I alone in my denim-short disdain?!!
I so rarely wear black that it shocks me when I find something that’s so cute I just have to grab it!!! And this romper from Target did the trick. It does come in some other colors/prints, but definitely try it on before you buy it because there seems to be very small variations in size that do make a difference. I paired this look with red accessories and simple sandals because Tim and I were headed out for a date night playing pinball at a local arcade! I felt so cute!
It’s getting hot in HURRR! Summer is upon us – but y’all know that I am not a fan of the heat. So what do you wear to a BBQ when you know you’re going to be outside and will probably be sweating up a storm?! My answer is usually a bra-friendly sundress with anti-chafing shorts underneath. But sometimes, the mechanics of sitting at a picnic table, playing yard games, or just getting up and down in lawn chairs can make a flirty little sundress a little risky. That’s when I turn to rompers, coordinated short sets, or the old BBQ standby of denim shorts and a tank top or cute shirt. These are a few pieces I found that I could def see myself wearing to a summer BBQ! Also – don’t forget the sunscreen!!!!
Beautiful doesn’t begin to describe how I felt in this amazing dress from City Chic. I think it’s perfect for a number of events – brunch, bridal showers, summer events, etc. It’s a fun and flirty favorite for sure!
