Dress Obsessed with Simply Be

To say that I’m dressed obsessed is a laughable understatement, since 90% of my wardrobe is every shape and style of plus size dress out there! So, obviously, I was thrilled when Simply Be asked me to be a part of their “Dress Obsessed” campaign! I chose two incredible dresses to style — the Geo High Neck Sleeveless Swing Dress* and the Simply Be Ladder Detail High Neck Dress*. Both of them are so unique and can be worn to the office and out and about socially!

Tough Enough: Boohoo Plus Size Embroidered Shirt Dress

I loved this Boohoo Plus Size Embroidered Shirt Dress the moment I saw it on their site! By the time I got it, I had already planned out the rock n roll, rough and tumble look I wanted to go for. Since it was sheer, I wanted to be covered, but not too covered. So, I wore a full coverage black bra and some shorts underneath and the only thing left to do was to add some badass shades.

Curvy Con 2016 Recap

In June, I was lucky enough to make it to New York City for 3 incredible plus size fashion events: the Golden Confidence Pool Party, Full Figured Fashion Week, and Curvy Con! It was my first time at all three events, and I felt like I had died and gone to plus size heaven! It was one of the most exciting, supportive and beautiful experiences of my life. And Curvy Con capped the week off with a fabulous shopping expo, amazing panels, and great after-parties.

This 2 day event was created by the lovely Chastity Garner of GarnerStyle.com and CeCe Olisa of Plus Size Princess. I managed to snap a picture with them and my favorite side kick of the weekend Amanda from Latest Wrinkle between sessions!

A few highlights of this year’s Curvy Con…

First…the people and the panels! I loved loved loved getting to see so many of my curvy blogging sisters! Seeing them in person and getting the chance to tell them how much I’ve admired them over the years was just a dream come true…not to mention the parade of fabulous, gorgeous outfits!

One of my favorite moments of the weekend was getting to chat with Ashley Nell Tipton, who is coming out with her first full collection with JC Penny!

My fan girl meter when OFF THE CHARTS during the panel with Ashley Nell Tipton, Jes Baker, and Valerie Segun…and my smiles turned to real tears when they showed the incredibly powerful and moving video “Here I Am” that was sponsored by JC Penny.

There were so many moments like that during the event, that I am sitting here grinning while thinking back on them!

Here’s a cute shot of me and Georgette from Grown and Curvy Woman. I’ve been a fan of her for years and finally got to see her beautiful smile in person.

Overall, it was an absolutely lovely event, and I will definitely try to go back next year when they move the event to Fashion Week in September!! SO EXCITED already!!!! xoxoxoxo
