Each year, Macy’s hosts a Flower Show at several of their flagship stores around the country. Gorgeous flowers, arranged in thematic settings…so beautiful, so fresh! It’s a gorgeous celebration of spring, and I love seeing what they come up with every year! This year’s theme was America the Beautiful, and every garden was set up to capture the spirit and natural beauty of each region of the country…the southeast, east, southwest, west, midwest and pacific northwest. I was so inspired by the Flower Show that I just had to do a photo shoot — even though the lighting was set up to highlight the flowers and (gasp!) not fashion bloggers attempting to steal the spotlight.
The three looks that I chose worked well with the gardens from the southeast, southwest and Rockies region.
First, the southeast, which is an environment I’m very familiar with, since I’m from Alabama! I chose a mint color, two tone sleeveless sheath dress from Calvin Klein to evoke the charm and refinement that characterizes southern fashion.

Next, I completely fell in love with this off-the-shoulder ruffled royal blue dress. I had a vision that it would perfectly match the southwest landscape and couldn’t help but add a flower headress!

And for my third dress, I went with a more sleek silhouette with a mod, colorblocked design that evoked the scenery of the Rockies to me.

Happy Easter from Style Plus Curves! I’m celebrating spring with florals, florals, florals! Also…hats! I try to take any and all chances to wear a hat and gloves! The fashion scene is sadly lacking hats and Easter is one of the few times where people in the U.S. will wear them! So, here’s my perfect Easter Sunday outfit: this ASOS CURVE Wiggle Dress in Garden Floral Print and this vintage bonnet and vintage gloves. So fresh, so ladylike, so spring!

This is the wardrobe essential you never knew you needed! This cropped plus size jumpsuit from Avenue is TOO CUTE! It hits on two trends going into spring — cropped pants and sleek modern silhouettes. Most people either love or hate jumpsuits, so if you love them, you’ll be in heaven with this Cutout Gaucho Jumpsuit from Avenue. The cropped legs are a modern twist, the black rayon fabric is easy to wear and breezy, and the cutouts at the neck add some dimension and detail. If you’re a jumpsuit hater, let me encourage you to try this one! The elasticized waist with the tie belt give you a lot of options for where you want the waist to hit so that it’s most flattering on your body.
