Are you looking for a plus size faux fur jacket this season? You are not alone. There has literally been an explosion of faux furs from various plus size retailers. I’m not just talking about the old-school sleek furs, but totally outrageous faux fur jackets with exaggerated, shaggy shapes and cool colors. I was lucky enough to grab this crazy version from Lane Bryant earlier this year and it’s my new favorite accessory! I bought a size 20/22 for even more of an exaggerated shape and it goes easily over thicker tops and sweaters.
Not only is it officially spring…but with it comes one of my favorite non-event events: the Kentucky Derby! Why do I love it? Well, truly only one reason: the hats! I love that for one day out of the year, people are forced to wear hats! I wish there were more hat-situations in my life! But until I move to England, I will have to be satisfied with my Kentucky Derby Hat Day! Now, a bit about my outfit…I’ve been a Fullbeauty brand ambassador for several months now, and I love that they keep adding new plus size brands to their line up! Another fabulous (and one of my favorite) brands is Fashion to Figure and they have recently joined the Fullbeauty ranks. When I saw this Plus Size Off the Shoulder Ruffled Peplum Dress from Fashion to Figure on Fullbeauty.com, I knew my Derby Dreams were about to come true!

It’s a Polka Dot Party up in here! I love the cheerful and humble polka dot…it’s impossible to not feel happy when wearing them! This black and white plus size ruffled overlay dress from ASOS Curve is just what every polka dot lover needs. This ASOS Praslin Plus Dress with Polka Dot Overlay is black with with dots on the bottom; white with black dots on the top. It’s close cut on the bottom, but definitely has a lot of stretch…so if you want a closer fit, order a size down!

I don’t like sticking to one style. I am a plus size fashion lover and I have love affairs with all of the different eras and styles. Sometimes, I’m in the mood for a 50s pinup look, sometimes I want to go for a strong #girlboss style, and other times, I want to go graphic and bold and a little 60s mod. Today is one of those days! This High Neck Crepe Dress from Simply Be is a little odd and very mod. I love the wide windowpane black and white print. And the high neck speaks to this style’s 60s roots. A funky extra is this stepped hem — it’s shorter in the front panel and is longer at the sides and back. It creates visual interest and drama — and ensures that your look is far from boring!

I think this bright blue Kristin Blake coat provides a fabulous contrast to the graphic print of the dress, don’t you? Add your own colorful topper and some booties, and see where your day takes you!
If you saw yesterday’s post, you know I’ve been collaborating with Fashion to Figure to bring you 3 perfect transitional outfits! It’s still freezing cold here in Chicago, but most of the country is starting to thaw out…and jumpsuits are perfect to transition to spring! This Black and White Wren Striped Jumpsuit from Fashion to Figure is super comfortable — made out of a loose knit that drapes over your curves. It’s sleeveless, so throw on a light layer like this Sloane Coated Blazer when you’re outside…and if you get warm, just slip it off. The stripe of the jumpsuit is pretty bold, so I played it down with some ladylike accessories — layers of pearls and this Lucian Color Block Snake Clutch took this look from playful to classy!
I love the ruching on the sleeves of this blazer!
Check back tomorrow for my last outfit post of this series!
