Y’all know I’m a sucker for animal print-anything! And these leopard print denim jeans from Jessica London were just fabulous enough to catch my eye. Perfect for transitioning into fall…pair these jeans with a comfy warm black sweater, a wonderfully basic, well-fitting scoop-neck tank top–like this one from Skinny Tees–and some edgy accessories, and you’ve got a sassy little ensemble for day or night.
Let me take a moment to talk about my tank top…What’s so special about it? Well, this one is from a company called Skinny Tees which makes its tank tops out of a special blend of nylon and spandex for a super flattering fit. And they are size-inclusive! They have a version called “And a Little More” Camisole which fits a range of plus sizes. It’s quickly become a wardrobe staple for me!
For the leopard-lover, these jeans will be another fun statement piece in your wardrobe…But be sure to order up one size — especially if you’re apple-shaped like me, since they are higher waisted and sit right at the belly button.
If you’re hungry for more animal print from Jessica London, check out this adorable Leopard Print Dress, this Animal Print Hobo Bag, and this Cheetah Print Sweater Tunic–which I can just see tucked into a fab pencil skirt and popped with a blazer. MEOW.
Gwynnie Bee is totally my go-to source for cute clothes when I’m desperate for variety in my closet. The weather in Chicago has been a bit undecided…so I needed a dress that was not too light but not too hot. I was also craving something that was comfy and casual, but still cute enough to go to brunch and shopping with my gal pals. This Land’s End 3/4 sleeve floral pattern dress that I ordered through Gwynnie Bee (GB ladies, find it here) was just the thing!
I love the combination of red and aubergine floral pattern…and the fabric is super soft. Up close, it looks a little washed out, but once you have it on, you won’t want to take it off since it’s so comfortable! It runs big, so size down or order your true size if you want some room. The surplice bodice is great for chesty ladies, and the gathered waist adds some shape to the loose cotton knit.
Ok, I admit it, until today, I’ve never actually worn a white suit… and the one pair of white linen pants I bought 6 years ago languished in my closet…unloved and unworn. But white is having a major moment right now, and I’ve recently had visions of bright white suits dancing in my head–so elegant, fresh and refined. Well, I will NOT be denied. When I saw the spring collection from Jessica London, I knew it was time to make the dream of the “great white suit” a reality.

The trick to a white suit for plussize women is to make sure the pants are streamlined…while the material is thick enough to lay nicely and not see-through. These Jessica London Stretch Denim Jeggings were just right for my shape! I like a very slim fit through the leg, and I balance the look with a looser top half. An elastic waistband makes for easy on-and-off and lays flat underneath your shirts, instead of the bulk of a button and zipper. Also, I love that they hit right at the ankle, which shows off your cute summer sandals and pedi perfectly!
I’m So Miami-Vicing it here, right???
This Jessica London Single-Breasted Linen Blazer in white has a nice weight to it and looks fantastic paired with white denim jeggings. For those of you who like a roomier, boxier fit to your blazers, this one is meant for you! Many of my plussize gal pals like blazers that cover their bums and hang below the hips, so if that is what you’re looking for, I encourage you to try this one. It does run a bit big, so I would recommend sizing down.
The weather is being frustratingly temperamental…spring one day and winter the next. The only joy to be found in this is the search for perfect transitional outfits. When I went home to Alabama to visit my family recently, it was warmer than Chicago, but still cool. I put together this casual and oh-so-cute outfit for running around town with my sis. This Jessica London Classic Boatneck Tshirt dress in bright jade stripe went perfectly with a cropped denim jacket, camel color leather boots, and gold accessories.
I’m pretty sure there’s nothing as comfortable as a tshirt dress! And this one from Jessica London is so soft and comfortable. With a loose fit, 3/4 length sleeves, and to-the-knee hemline, it just screams spring staple!
Around the holidays, I get a craving for classic looks and timeless silhouettes… And what can be more classic than cashmere?? This Jessica London Cotton Cashmere Sweater in a bright raspberry is just what the holiday season ordered. The high boatneck is modest and classy, the bright color adds a little sass, and the tunic length lends this sweater some versatility…and did I mention it is cashmere?!
This sweater was just screaming to be paired with a pencil skirt…I could have tucked it and gone for more of a pin-up look, but I chose to cinch it with a belt to still enhance the hourglass shape, but maintain the classic lines.
If you have a cashmere sweater hiding in the back of your closet, bring it out, throw on a pencil skirt and take your sassy self to the office. Hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday season so far!
