This year is a total Plus Size Revolution! The recent Lane Bryant #PlusisEqual campaign has helped highlight the increasing acceptance of plus size women on runways and in magazines. It’s been amazing to watch and to be a part of. How many times, as a plus size woman, have you been overwhelmed with choices?? It seems to be happening more and more to me lately, and I am reveling in that feeling! This outfit is one more example of how on point Lane Bryant is this season. This simple Venetian Red Ponte Circle Skirt fits perfectly, and paired with this Black Mock Neck Top, I’m feeling all sorts of fierce and fabulous.
Have you noticed that I’m slightly obsessed with polka dots this season?!? I just can’t seem to get enough of this fun print — it goes with everything and immediately make me happy–even on a rainy day. Today’s outfit features this City Chic Midi Spot Skirt with a mint green Vince Camuto Sleeveless Blouse from Nordstrom. On my lunch break earlier this summer, I wandered down to the Ju Ming Sculpture in downtown Chicago and had my coworker snap these pics.
City Chic Polka Dot Midi Skirt; Vince Camuto Mint Green Sleeveless Top via Nordstrom; Black Polka Dot Belt via Lane Bryant; Camel Kate Spade bag
This outfit was a staple of my work wear this summer, but I’m already planning to transition it into fall! Black tights and a black cardigan will give this skirt life well into the early winter months.
Have you tried Gwynnie Bee yet? I’ve been talking about it for ages on my blog, and I am still loving the service! It makes it possible for me to have unlimited access to new dresses and still be able to live in a studio apartment. If you’re interested, you can sign up for a Free 30-day trial to try out the service.
Right now, spring is still in the process of springing…winter clothes are too warm and spring outfits aren’t ready to come out yet…that’s another place where the Gwynnie Bee Service comes in! You can spice up your wardrobe while you’re waiting to debut your bright spring dresses.
The lines of this Three Dots dress looked simple, but were very flattering–with the seaming over the bust and the full skirt. The 3/4 sleeves and below-the-knee length were perfect for the uncertain spring weather. Definitely a great transition piece!
Stay tuned for all of the details about this watch in my next post!
OK, true confession: I do not do casual very well. If I have the choice between dressing down or dressing up, I almost always go UP…way UP! But, sometimes you just want something loose and comfortable to wear with a pair of skinny jeans. So this weekend, I brought out the Asos Curve Baroque Peplum Top from my Gwynnie Bee closet.
As you can see, the top was made out of a light, thin cotton, and had a nice muted blue print. It fit quite loose, so I would size down if you want more of a cinched-waist look.
Throw this on with some wedges, a colorful long necklace and some skinny jeans…and you have the makings of a cute, casual look for summer.

I’ve been waiting for the perfect day to wear this Kimono jacket from H&M! First of all…it’s from H&M! And it’s a size 12! I can’t imagine that this would look right on an actual size 12 woman…but I thought it looked super cute when I tried it on. The design reminds me of a watercolor painting…with blush, pink, mint green and dark green brushstrokes. lol. Anyway, here I am wearing it for casual Friday at work.

Kimono Cardi: H&M, Skinny Jeans: Forever 21+, Belt: Macy’s, Boots: Fergie by way of Nordstrom Rack, Jewelry: Ravensgoods, Forever 21, and beach vendor |
I paired the kimono cardi with a cream tank, gold braided belt, skinny jeans, and my favorite fall boots! My jewelry is kind of jumbled, but I think it all works together…
I need some other outfit ideas for this kimono/caftan/cardigan. What would you wear this with?
