Plussize Lingerie Shopping Guide: Introducing Curvy Couture, part 2

In my last post, I introduced one of my favorite new plussize lingerie lines called Curvy Couture. Did you check out their gorgeous spring collection? I am thrilled that I got the chance to pick out a bra and panty set to review–and even got a chance to chat with the designer and creator of Curvy Couture, Dora Lau. She’s on a mission to make every full-figured woman proud to be curvy–and she’s an absolute delight to interview!

But before we talk to Dora, let me just tell you a bit about the Cabaret Lace Plunge Bra and matching thong panty from Curvy Couture. HOTNESS. That is all I have to say. If you thought your girls looked full and perky before, you will gasp in disbelief when you put this on.

This gorgeous bra is sexy and supportive…basically the goldmine of plussize lingerie. I love the swiss dot pattern mixed with the lace on the hot pink layer and the black accent details. This is just one of their bra and panty sets from their spring collection, and I’ve already spotted a few others that I want to try!

How did Dora Lau start her business and design such gorgeous lingerie line like Curvy Couture? A few months ago, I asked her! Here’s what she had to say.

“I’ve been designing for curvy girls for over 20
years! As a teenager, I was curvy and when I couldn’t find clothes I liked in the stores, I started making my own. The curvy girl is a very underserved market in fashion. We want fashion and sex appeal just like all women, but it is hard to find clothes with the proper fit and construction–especially in lingerie. When I got older, I started designing evening wear and eventually moved to lingerie. For years, I worked with Lane Bryant to design the core and novelty bras. A few years ago, I decided to branch out on my own–and really focus on the undergarments that make curvy women feel pampered and special and sexy.”

“There are so many more materials available now and the technology for construction has advanced so much! Even though these features are mostly unseen, they make a huge difference in the shape and support of the garment. Then we add gorgeous fabrics and flirty details, and that is what Curvy Couture is all about. We have 50 people on staff…together with my technical team, we have over 100 years of experience in the business. It’s a dream come true for me.”

“We go to
the lingerie and fashion shows in Paris and Shanghai and shop for materials in Barcelona and Finland…we are always looking for techniques to learn and incorporate it into our Curvy Couture designs. Right now, we are selling directly to consumers through our website and sell to specialty boutiques all over the U.S. We are still growing and expanding! You might see us in major department stores soon! And…we are not stopping with just lingerie…at Curvy Couture, we want to create a whole pampering experience for our girls, so you’ll see more beauty products and items on our site. It’s one step at a time, but you can see that I have big dreams for Curvy Couture!

    Dear Girl Who's Name I Don't Know,

You are like the classiest dame blogger out there. I love your postings, and I think I am beginning to develop a serious crush on you; in that I have developed a serious crush on you.

And, you don't know I exist, which sucks because: 1) I think we would be extremely compatible. 2) I know when to use colons and semicolons. 3) I exist.

In conclusion, I wish that I had the opportunity to woo you. You seem like you would be particularly susceptible to my particular brand of wooing, and I adore you completely.

    Your friend,
