When I was planning my poolside outfit for this year’s Golden Confidence Plus Size Pool Party, I could NOT decide which one of my swim suits to bring! I wanted something dramatic and unique…and I didn’t to show up in something that another fabulous curvy lady was wearing! I ended up finding the perfect DIVA-RIFFIC two piece swimsuit at Rue 107.
Did you catch yesterday’s post with candids from the pool party? Check it out here! I am already looking forward to next year’s event! xoxo
This year, I was thrilled to be able to travel to New York for Full Figured Fashion Week 2016! I’ve never been before, so this was a huge deal for me…and when I heard that Essie Golden — the amazing blogger behind the #GoldenConfidence movement — was hosting her second annual Golden Confidence Plus Size Pool Party, I knew that I HAD to be there! So, I extended my trip and added another weekend! The party was held at a very nice rooftop pool at the Holiday Inn Midtown in Manhattan. I had a blast…so many gorgeous curvy ladies to talk to and compare fierce swim suits! It was a bit of a dream come true! So…on Saturday night, I grabbed a taxi and headed to the pool party!
I fell madly in love with this City Chic Succulent Sweetie dress the moment I saw it in Nordstrom over a year ago! The PRINT — SO vibrant and bold…and unexpected!!! I mean…succulents? On a dress??? And it’s not just any dress…it’s this amazing fit-and-flare party dress that’s made out of crepe de chine and has a fabulous tulle underskirt to make the skirt stand out…just so! It’s a win from top to bottom…and you can see I felt like a million bucks in it. And…lucky you — some sizes are still available in this dress at City Chic, Macy’s and Bloomingdales. Snag one if you can!!!
Sometimes, a classic sheath dress in a rich color is all you need to command a room! This Adrianna Papell Origami Sheath Dress is so rich and flattering, that I had to buy it after trying it through my Gwynnie Bee subscription! You’ve heard about Gwynnie Bee, right? The plus size subscription service for clothes? Check it out here if you want to know more!

I have always been a little wary of the yellow and black color scheme…since it puts me in mind of bumble bees and Stryper, the spandex-clad christian glam rock band from the 80s (don’t know who they are? click here.) But the time has come to bring out the gold and black in all its glory! When I found this gorgeous marigold lace peplum top from Jessica London on fullbeauty.com, I knew that these short black shorts from Torrid would be the perfect pairing. The marigold yellow is so bright and cheery and the same colored lace overlay is so ladylike! When you pair it with some flirty black short shorts, you’ve got a cute, summer ready and sunshine-y outfit!
