Things to Do in Chicago: Odyssey Dinner Cruise
If you’re looking for things to do in Chicago, look no further than an Odyssey Dinner Cruise that leaves from Navy Pier! It’s such a lovely experience to share with your out of town guests or your local friends, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion. An Odyssey Dinner Cruise is a perfect night out – complete with a fantastic view of the city from Lake Michigan, a delicious dinner and dancing! I recently hosted a dinner party on the Odyssey for my family when they were here visiting, and I thought I’d share moments of that magical night with you!
When my family came into town earlier this summer, I wanted to do something special to celebrate with them. My family and I grew up visiting Chicago several times a year, so I knew it would be hard to find something unique that they hadn’t already done. But then I remembered the Odyssey, and I knew it was a perfect plan! I’ve taken several dinner cruises on Odyssey over the years, so I knew first hand how lovely it is and I was excited to share it with my family. I contacted the Odyssey and they were kind enough to set up a dinner cruise for my party of 6.
The Odyssey docks at Navy Pier and you get a beautiful look at the city and the pier as you board the boat. The boat leaves promptly and heads out into Lake Michigan for a 2-3 hour tour!
My group immediately headed up to the upper deck for a photoshoot while the sun was still out!

My boyfriend came and was so sweet to take a ton of photos for us so that we could capture the spirit of the night!
Me and My Sisters!
Once we finished our first photo shoot of the evening, we headed inside and were greeted with a fabulous table setting and a bottle of Champagne. Shrimp cocktails quickly followed, served by our Randy, our amazing server.
From the windows and the upper decks of the Odyssey, you have the most unbelievable views of the Chicago skyline – both at sunset and at night. The view alone is worth the trip, but the beautiful setting, excellence service, delicious food and a rockin’ dance floor are all welcome bonuses.
These crab cakes were oh-so-delicious!
AND OMG…this butter cake!!!
The night view from the observation deck of the Odyssey is unparalleled!
My sister and I hit the dance floor!
The night ended with another sweet treat: these adorable sailor cookies!
It was truly an unforgettable experience for me and my family! If you’re visiting Chicago, or even if you live here!, you should absolutely spend a night out aboard the Odyssey.
A standard dinner cruise ticket includes:
You can add on other perks like a drink package or a bottle of Champagne to make your night even more special.
P.S. I’d like to thank the crew, our servers and the PR team who helped me set up this wonderful evening for my guests. We will never forget it!
