Plus Fashion Week Chicago: Let's Talk About Fashion Event

As I might have hinted in my previous posts…I’ve been absolutely swamped lately…a new job and new apartment have been absorbing my time and energy for the past few months…but now, I’m finally getting the chance to catch my breath–and catch up on posts. 🙂

This event took place in May and was sponsored by Plus Fashion Week Chicago. It was billed as a time for the plus size fashion community to come together and talk about issues in the world of plus size fashion. A lovely crowd of both men and women gathered in the plush back room of the bar in the Public Hotel and watched as several gorgeous women modeled selected fashions from local plus size designers and boutiques here in the city. These pictures are not the best quality, but they should give you an idea of the event!
Terrible pic…but GORGEOUS peacock blue sateen coat with purple accents by Chocolate Sushi Couture
And the best part??? LEOPARD print lining!!! *Swoon!

This is another amazing dress from Chocolate Sushi Couture. What’s not to love about this one-shouldered peacock print dress?

And it wouldn’t be an event without the unmatched beauty of my girl Perry (Alluring Chicago). She’s wearing a SWAK dress from vive la femme boutique

Where in the world are the most beautiful curvy women???

Doesn’t she just look like a songstress from the 40s? Gorgeous!

Here’s Perry with Stephanie, owner extraordinaire of vive la femme boutique and violette shoe salon. 🙂

I always love running into Lindsey Adams (Lindsey M Adams). She’s always dressed impeccably and uses lots of color! 🙂

Perry and Jessica Milagro….Goddesses.

Stephanie looks completely at home behind the microphone!

Just giving a shout out to my home state…Alabama!!!

I came to the event straight from work, so my outfit is a little more subdued than usual. 🙂 I’m wearing this awesome striped blazer from Forever 21, reddish-orange draped top and black belt from Lane Bryant, and a black pencil skirt from Kiyonna.
I saw a lot of new faces at this event and enjoyed chit chatting with everyone in such a beautiful environment. The mini fashion show also added a great element to the evening. 🙂
Ok, more posts to come…so stay tuned, my lovelies!
